I am so proud to present you with my new branding and my new blog!! I have been working with a brilliant, patient, and very passionate designer, named Emma, for the last few months., and she nailed it. It was a really interesting and introspective experience. I found that the voice inside me had been hushed for a while. I had been hushing what I really like in many areas of design and I ‘m not even sure why. Figuring out what you like, who you are as an artist and how you want to present yourself is a big, scary job…but we did it. I am so happy with the result.
Ok some of you will ask…why. Well the previous logo was lovely but i felt it was a tad big serious, or elegant. Who says ‘too elegant’? Well I guess I do. I felt that if people met me for the first time, after only seeing that logo they may be shocked at my personality, or that I am outspoken at times or outgoing. I didn’t feel that it totally said who I was, or represented me correctly. Who gets this deep with fonts and logos you ask…I do. I put a lot of thought into this, and I am a bit complicated. I know Whitney and Emma are laughing if they read this cause complicated only starts to ice my cake…
I feel we found something beautiful and handmade that I feel speaks for who I wanna be, who I am, how I feel…I love the watercolor for the earthy, natural vibe. I love that Emma did the whole thing by hand, from the drawing to the painting to the writing of my name.
I have some hand-painted stripes that I am incorporating in my packaging. I can’t wait to play more with all these new elements. My new business cards are on the way and Emma had custom stamps made for me. It is one of her specialties…
I chose Emma because she is amazing, duh, but also because I love how she incorporates many elements to create a brand…also for her eye, she is amazing with watercolors, she loves using stamps, and she is young & stylish. Let me know your thoughts, I would love some feedback.
