Super Moon//

Wanted to share a picture I took of the super moon, from a beautiful wedding Saturday.  Th moon almost looks like the sun in this photo.  I am gearing up for a huge weekend for my family.  Emily & Josh are getting married!!!  I am so excited, and a little nervous, as I will be a bridesmaid and the official photographer, and have three children in the wedding party.  I live for stuff like this though…keeps you on your toes and keeps things exciting.  Don’t ask me how I do it…I am not a planner, but a doer.  My goal is to be present and enjoy it, because this is my little sister and I am so happy for her.

Sarah & David//Wed

I am just sharing a few, I am not even sure if they are back from their honeymoon.  If they are, swell, if not then the fam can see a few, some silly, some pretty.  I have a ton to blog from this wedding, but have a long drive up to Seneca tomorrow, so I will be blogging this next week.  I love getting to head north, well northwest to some of the prettiest parts of South Carolina.  It should be a wonderful day tomorrow too!

Sarah and David were a lot of fun, from the hipster groomsmen, to the pretty wedding details. I will have a full post soon, so show you what a beautiful wedding Sarah had.

Summer + Joseph//eloped

It had only taken Summer and Joseph about 15 years to begin their journey—since the they had attended both middle and high school together, both in band class, riding the school bus together—and even growing up within a couple hundred feet of one another, on the lovely coast of North Carolina.  It was apparent to them on their first date something special was already taking place, and within a few weeks the two were head over heels in love.  A few months down the road, it wasn’t just Summer that Joseph was falling in love with—but he had also began an unbreakable bond with her son, Easton.

The two had originally planned somewhat of an elopement in Dillon, South Carolina—as this is where their grandparents had been married, parents, etc; sort of a family tradition.  After some research, and discovering you can no longer just ‘get married’ at the Dillon County courthouse —Summer set out on a mission to piece together the perfect wedding location.

Eventually, she came across this gorgeous ‘you only see in the movies’ location in Lake View, South Carolina (right next to Dillon)—Page’s Mill Pond.  Photographs and information about the mill pond were very scarce on the internet—but after a few calls to the Dillon County Historical Society, she was finally put in touch with the owner, who was thrilled that someone was inquiring about using the spot for such an intimate ceremony.

The ceremony, of course, included Easton—who received a special necklace during the ring exchange.  Since both Joseph and Summer’s grandfathers were big coin collecting enthusiasts—the pair decided to take one coin that belonged to each Grandfather and create Easton’s necklace—a symbol of unity.

The passage above was written by Summer & edited by me for content.  I thoroughly enjoyed being involved in this, and am so happy I met this amazing little family.  I was very small when my Mom & Step-Dad married, and I was so touched by the kindness and patience that Joseph shows for sweet Easton.  They will all grow closer and closer and Easton will soon not really remember life without Joseph. Blessings!

from a piece of wood purchased at Home Depot, painted with chalkboard paint.  I drew the font
and accoutrements by hand with chalk.  Suitcase and lanterns are vintage and sheepskin from

Blogging is an afterthought when you have orders and emails to respond to.  Which stinks, cause i love looking at new & recent stuff.  I have a bunch of stuff waiting to be seen, so for now here is one of Sarah’s bridal session images.  This is sort of out of the norm for me, as I love a clean background, but I really loved how the light hit her face, and how her dress fell…and this is what she chose for her portrait.  More coming in the near future.
